Muscle cramps occur when we overuse a muscle, dehydration, muscle strain or even holding a position for a long period of time as well.
Let's dive right into how we can prevent muscle cramps!
1. Avoid dehydration
Drink plenty of water every day. In Singapore, as we know, it is humid and hot every single day so it is crucial to keep ourselves hydrated. Fluids help our muscles contract, ease and keep the muscle cells hydrated and less irritable. During any activity, replenish fluids at regular breaks, and continue drinking water or other fluids after you have finished. I recommend drinking water as it is the best form of fluid that we can drink and it is a key remedy for all our problems in our body when you come to think of it.
2. stretch your muscles
Stretch before and after you use any muscle for a long period of time. It does not even have to be a workout. You can stretch a little every morning to warm up your muscles for the day as well. If you have leg cramps at night, it is advisable to stretch before bedtime. Just a little hamstring, calf, gluteus stretches etc. on your bed is good before going to sleep.
I hope this blog is beneficial for you. Thank you so much for reading! All the Best and See you Soon.
