My back is killing meee!

Do you have back pain?

Whether it’s from the gym, moving a heavy object, or some other unknown cause, lower back pain is an annoyance we’ve all experienced. It is one of the most common chronic medical conditions experienced by people of all ages.

One of common forms of lower back pain is the non-specific muscular pain which is basically muscle strain. One common symptom to look out for is non-specific, intense muscular pain on one or both sides of the lower back. Non-specific pain may be caused by lifting, twisting, stretching, or any other kind of movement that adds stress to the lower back. It can also be caused by sudden, unexpected movement such as a fall.

Here are some tips to relieve your back

• The usual advice is to keep active and do normal activities as much as possible. Move around as soon as you are able and get back into the activities as soon as you can. As a rule, don’t do anything that causes a lot of pain. However, you will have to accept some discomfort when you are trying to keep active.

• Sleep in the most naturally comfortable position on whatever is the most comfortable surface. Some people find that a small firm pillow between the knees when sleeping on the side helps to ease symptoms at night.

• One way to relieve your back is heat. A hot bath may help to ease the pain.

In 7 in 10 cases, the pain has either gone or had greatly eased within four weeks.

In about 9 in 10 cases, the pain has gone or has greatly eased withing six weeks.

However, if the pain persists longer than six weeks, it is called chronic back pain.

If you face chronic back pain, I strongly encourage you to visit the doctor. Do not neglect this pain as it may cause long-term effects on our body. Do not compromise your health as it is the most important thing in our lives.

I hope this email and the tips are beneficial for you. Please take care of your health. All the Best and See you soon!

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards, Coach Samuel
